OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL -- Ashland. The most intriguing element
of the ambitious season here (which began in February and continues
through November) is the world premiere of a two-play cycle by David
Edgar (who is also represented with ''Pentecost'' at the Globe in San
Diego). One play, ''Daughters of the Revolution,'' is running at the
Bowmer Theater through July 13, and the other, ''Mothers Against,''
is at the New Theater through June 27. Together Mr. Edgar, who is British,
calls them ''Continental Divide,'' and they focus on the same American
gubernatorial election. The repertory at the Bowmer also includes four
other shows. Among the highlights at the New Theater is ''Lorca in a
Green Dress,'' a world premiere by Nilo Cruz, opening July 8. (541)
